Participation Assessment and Reflection on Progress

Write a 1000 word report assessing your participation during the core course and reflecting on your progress overall during the year.

  • Your report should comment on the extent to which you were prepared for core course sessions, and your ability to engage with the issues discussed, ask critical questions and interact fruitfully in the seminar environment. How have you felt your participation has progressed over the course of the year?
  • On your progress more generally, and to the feedback you have received on written work and oral presentations in order to reflect on issues such as your conceptual and analytical skills, your time management and organisational skills, your technical skills (e.g. writing essays, taking notes) and your communication skills. What do your strengths appear to be? What are the areas you need to work on, particularly anything which emerged from more than one piece of feedback?
  • Don’t forget that the comments you make should be supported by examples from your work and experience of studying this year, and the feedback you have received from tutors.

Assessment

  • Specified requirements followed (i.e. text consists of an assessment of your participation and a reflection on your progress during the session).
  • Claims made in the text are supported by examples.
  • A line of argument is both evident and adhered to.

Deadline

  • You should email your word-processed report to your tutor before your tutorial seminars on April 30.
